Do you know Maya Gabeira?  If you do, you sure know that she is an athlete, one beautiful and accomplished surfer.  But did you know how she was able to achieve what she is enjoying right now?

If you want to know more about this professional surfer from Rio de Janeiro, I will discuss a few things about her and why she is one of the well-rounded surfers today.

Major Accomplishments

Maya is a professional big wave surfer.  She has been awarded the Billabong Girls Best Overall Performance Award for five times already.  The first four awards were given in 4 consecutive years from 2007 to 2010.  The fifth one is in 2012.

She is also awarded by ESPY as the Best Female Action Sports Athlete of the Year in 2009.

2009 was also the year when this brave and young athlete surfed a 45-foot wave at the Dungeons Beach in South Africa.  It gave her the record of the biggest wave surfed by a female surfer.  It is not a small accomplishment, for female surfers, this big wave defines her experience, bravery and focus.

Finally, Red Bull has sponsored “The Carissa and Maya Project”.  In this project, she has partnered with Carissa Moore in mentoring female surfers.  She is helping them understand the perplexities of surfing in the hopes that they will develop new talents.

How Did Maya Gabeira Do All Of These?

Maya is a privileged young lass.  Being the daughter of a politician and a fashion designer, she does not have to work hard for anything to get what she wants.  However, because of her perseverance and love for her craft she trains hard without falter.

Aside from training 5 hours every day, she also practices yoga and runs up to ten kilometers a day.  She also partners with other surfers in braving huge waves.

She has a mentor that she partners with to give her the courage to brave the waves.  She tries to be careful and keeps her focus when she is in the water.

Maya Gabeira On ESPN

Because of her accomplishments, she is invited to grace the pages of ESPN magazine.  Thus, aside from her numerous YouTube videos surfing, doing yoga and training, you will also see her in the July 2012 issue of ESPN magazine.

In this issue, you will see Maya surfing naked underwater.  This is taken in the North Shore of Oahu Island in Hawaii near her residence.

Do You Want To Achieve Her Body?

Maya GabeiraIf you have seen her picture, you would, like me, envy her form and her body.  Thus, if you are a woman, you can get her body if you work for it.

Remember that Maya is a privileged young lady but because she is serious in improving her craft, she trains hard, she exercises and she does yoga.  You can do all of these as well.  Train yourself to be disciplined and focused on your goals.

In time, you will achieve what you want and even the perfect body that Maya Gabeira has.
